About
Zhicheng Yi is an independent visual communicator currently based in London. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, he has a strong foundation in graphic design and conceptual art. His multidisciplinary practice spans publication, illustration, installation, and photography — continuously exploring new mediums to engage broader audiences.
His work centers on crafting visual narratives that explore the interconnectedness of self, community, society, and the natural world. Drawing from the environments he has lived in and the experiences they have fostered, he develops context-sensitive responses that bridge design and art.
Believing that art should be rooted in the spaces it reflects, he strives to create works that forge meaningful connections with both audiences and the communities they represent. He views his practice as a medium to preserve the past, interpret the present, and envision the future — positioning his work within a broader historical continuum.
This context-driven expression defines his unique approach to visual communication, as he seeks to evoke meaningful dialogues between place, memory, and imagination.
